Ever heard of those cheesy yet awing childhood school romance stories? Well, Akansha and Ankit’s adorable tale of love, that started early on when they were in school, is much like that, but only better. Back in school, just as their friendship was on the verge of blossoming into much more, Akansha had to move to a boarding school. Flash Forwarding through hundreds of giddy phone calls and emails, start to their dating period, fair shares of ups and downs, long-awaited proposal, and the two families coming together, they finally got around to have this beautiful Royal Marwari Wedding in Jaipur.
Can we even deem a destination wedding complete without getting an extraordinary pre-wedding photoshoot done? Definitely not! So, our beautiful couple also set out to have an amazing pre-wedding photoshoot in Manali amidst the scenic view of mountains and lush greenery around Solang Valley, Mall Road, and Van Vihar. Shot in four different locations and outfits, this shoot captured their adorable chemistry and overwhelming love for each other perfectly.
The royal marwari wedding began with a small Bridal Mehendi function where both our bride and groom got beautiful henna applied. With Akansha glowing in a unique purple kurta and sharara with green dupatta from Maayera Boutique, Jaipur and Ankit complimenting her in a dark green kurta with cream jacket, they both were all smiles and laughter on this day.
With light decor incorporating fairy lights, Rajasthani khaats, muddas, and traditional Rajasthani cuisine on the menu, the welcome dinner to this Royal Marwari Wedding did full justice to its theme ‘Welcome to Rajasthan’. Giving the beautiful feels that accompany Rajasthani culture, our bride and groom made a rocking entry to the venue on the dhol beats of a Delhi dhol group. Add in a majestic performance by a famous local artist – Shahid Khan and his band, and you got the perfect welcome dinner for the wedding.
Our couple chose to wear traditional outfits for this Rajasthani themed event. So, Akansha adorned a stunning traditional suit by Folklore and Ankit matched his bride in a smart black Indo Western suit.
Wanting to give a Tomorrowland feel to their cocktail, this event screamed glam and fun with its decor. From blinking LED light entry passage to the banquet of Le Meridien enhanced with LED walls, the entire venue gave off a club-like vibe. And what can be more beautiful than making entry with your guests blowing hundreds of bubbles your way? Moreover, the best part about the cocktail was how they had arranged slippers for guests so that they could change and dance till the wee hours of the night without their feet hurting due to uncomfortable party footwear.
While Ankit wore a classy three-piece black and white suit, Akansha went for a gorgeous Gaurav Gupta cocktail gown for this event. Further, fun dance performances by Russian dancers, bartenders making everyone drink shots all across the venue, and crazy beats echoing across the banquet courtesy of a local DJ, only added to the fun that this night came with.
Clubbing their Mayara and Mehendi function, Akansha & Ankit’s Winter Wedding oversaw a unique English Carnival near the Le Meridien poolside, which sported lovely pastel and floral decor. With all fun activities and games that you can possibly imagine like Giant Jenga, Snakes & Ladders, Spa stations, 7 up 7 down, and caricature artists and magicians, everyone enjoyed this relaxing and fun day to the max. Even keeping little kiddos in mind, Ankit and Akansha made sure that the Le Meridien food menu for this event included stalls for candy floss, popcorn, cone pizza counters, among many more.
Keeping up with the pastel theme, Akansha wore a peach and blue skirt and top designed by Papa don’t preach by Shubika which she coupled with a stylish jacket. Ankit further complemented her in a peach kurta with which he wore an embroidered jacket. With color bombs doing their magic and surrounded by their loved ones, both our bride and groom made a separate entry and both were not able to stop themselves from dancing to the wild dhol beats!
Dressed in similar outfits, the bride’s maternal uncles then went ahead with the Mayra function with her mother while traditional songs sung by Bhavya Chabra set the mood for the event. Following this was the Mehendi event where Bhavya and Ruchita, the anchor for the event, went around and made the guests sing and dance on Bollywood songs with them making the day even more fun. The giant hashtag ‘BunkIt WithShAnkit’ by the poolside, surprise flash mob by their cousins, foot massage counters, guests downing frequent tequila shots and all of Akansha’s cousins and friends wearing the same floral sarees and kurta pajama gifted by her, were some of the highlights of this Royal Marwari Wedding event.
Oh, and how can we possibly forget about the magical butterfly hanging decor by the stage side? Especially on the demand of our bride who loved the idea of butterfly decor, their planners followed through in the best possible way. Moreover, the numerous henna counters for the guests and floral bangle counter for the ladies finally made up the English Carnival for this Jaipur Wedding.
With its decor with chandelier and crystal hangings and black and silver color-palette, the ‘Jashn-e-Shaam’ was a glitzy affair. There was a LED Stage backdrop that enabled everyone to see numerous performances given by the couple’s families and even live music performances by famous artists – Nupur Pant and Saurav Kaldi. And as it may be obvious by now, the couple again didn’t disappoint when it comes to making a grand and unique entry. So, escorted by dancers wearing LED costumes, these couples looked nothing less than majestic when they made an entry with their smiles almost lighting up as bright as the lights (well, not literally!).
One of the most spectacular highlights of this evening was Akansha’s dance performance. From making an entry on the stage on a harness to dedicating some emotional performances for her parents, she owned the stage! Also, we cannot possibly conclude this event without commenting on the glam and glittering Suneet Verma piece worn by Akansha. Ankit also looked nothing less than dashing in his unique Indo Western wear customized from a store in Delhi.
Next in line for the night was the cute and cozy Bridesmaid photoshoot in one of the Le Meridien Jaipur rooms. With super chic bridesmaid boxes with robes gifted by Akansha to her girls, this lot let their goofiness show and posed perfectly in front of the camera with some really unique bridesmaid photoshoot props.
Mix in Bachelors, drinks, DJ, and late nights, and you get yourself a plethora of fun and some crazy memories that will last you for the lifetime. Even after the extraordinary Sangeet, Ankita & Akansha’s Royal Marwari wedding fun was far from over. So, under the colorful LED lights in the banquet of Le Meridien, they had a crazy after-party where they wore cozy night clothes and danced their hearts out.
Hosted in the Le Meridien lawn, the Fusion Haldi for this Jaipur wedding event was the definition of vibrant and aesthetic with Jaipuri fabric tents, intricate floral ceiling decor, and marigold and colorful tassel hangings enhancing the beauty of the venue. Again, the couple made a unique entry – this time in a yellow rickshaw decorated with flowers and Russian girls simultaneously showering them with flowers. Made to sit in 2 big paraats, these two had the pleasure of having their friends and cousins throwing buckets of water and flowers on them.
Akansha and Ankit went for simple yet smart outfits for this event; with Akansha in a long yellow ruffled top and long skirt by Sunita Bhandari and Ankit in a customized dark green kurta pajama. Also, setting a high benchmark, this Rajasthani royal wedding made sure to follow the common notion of ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ and had foot massage counters for their guests. Moreover, they gifted them gift boxes with Rose Petal Scrub that had the couple’s specialized stickers made with hashtags and logos.
Finally, the day of this royal Marwari wedding in Jaipur rolled around and it featured one of the most luxury wedding venues in Jaipur, The Gulmohar, highlighted with hundreds of candles and vibrant red and white decor. With the baraat procession worthy to be that of a Maharaja, Ankit entered in a horse carriage and elephant with the most famous Jea Band of Jaipur. Lawasma men carrying marshals escorted our groom up to the staircase where he waited for his bride for the Varmala ceremony. Meanwhile, Akansha made an entry in an extraordinary chariot escorted by beautiful shamadan girls with cold pyros surrounding her and ‘Din shagna da’ playing in the background.
Post-Varmala, the sky was set ablaze with spectacular fireworks and numerous cold pyros while famous folk tunes by Rajasthani instrumental players echoed in the background.
The couple had decided to host a combined wedding reception followed by the Marwari wedding ceremony. With hundreds of red roses and chandeliers with white flower hangings, the wedding reception stage decor was quite a sight. Featuring a complete Rajasthani food menu for weddings and much more by the best caterers in Jaipur – Gyanjee Caterers, this couple made sure that there are a plethora of cuisines including rare stalls like Belgian Waffles. Akansha always dreamed of getting a palace wedding and being a Sabyasachi bride and with this Jaipur destination wedding, she fulfilled both these dreams.
