Meet Shalini and Akhil
A simple yet so extraordinary saga of how Shalini & Akhil found each other is the perfect example of how love knows no bounds or distance. Even when our groom is a New York resident and bride, a proud Kolkatan, a matrimonial app brought them together. Some late night conversations, a few back and forth trips and a year of courtship finally ended up with them tying the knot with the grand destination wedding in Thailand.

‘Praise the Vendors’ ft Bride
Wedding Venue: We selected Dusit Thani Hua Hin due to its unique location and variety of landscapes. The best part about the venue was the cooperative and amazing hotel team that helped us plan everything super smoothly with their in-house Indian wedding specialist! To cut it short, it was way more beautiful than all my dreams. I give them 5/5.
Wedding Photographer: Having a connection with your photographer is super vital as those 2-3 days are super stressful for the couple and they want someone who makes them comfortable! So, we took as long as 5-6 months and finally decided on Weddings by Knotty Days. Nikhil’s team brought this super fun vibe to the wedding and his playful and light attitude made our guests very happy and appreciative of the team. They are very cooperative and bore with all my pre-wedding and editing demands! I give them 5/5!
Wedding Planner: We chose The Wedding Network upon the recommendation from the venue itself because of their excellent work. Our wedding was planned by both families residing in two different countries so it involved a lot of juggling of ideas and conflicts. But Annika, the owner of the company, calmly paid attention to every detail and then worked tirelessly so that we barely had to stress about anything! Even the shadows she gave us were to suit our personalities so we would be comfortable! Everything went pretty smoothly and our wedding was executed much better than we imagined, even the guests couldn’t stop raving about the management! I give them 5/5.
Bridal Makeup Artist: Paveena is a very calm and patient makeup artist who makes you feel really comfortable. She made sure my mood stayed good by cracking the silliest of jokes in the weirdest of moments when I thought I would break down. She gives very natural makeup while still transforming you into a gorgeous beauty. I felt like a celebrity with the kind of looks she gave me! She and the hairstylist created magic and I totally left my looks on them as they were so good. I give her 5/5!
