Like most of us, our Sindhi Bride Aahana and Punjabi Groom Tarun also wished to get a fairytale Indian wedding ever since they can remember. And the best part is that they managed to get that and a lot more by hosting a luxury destination wedding in Dubai at the Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah.

From the magical performances by Bollywood Playback singers like Lisa Mishra and Shadab Faridi to Arab-themed wedding ceremonies, and the thrill of being the Sabyasachi Bride, our newly married couple remember this affair to be the best moment of their entire lives.
So, hop on the journey to discover and witness the highlights of their various wedding events and read real bride reviews on venues and the vendors hired from Dubai and Mumbai.
A quintessential of the saying ‘opposites attract’, Aahana and Tarun are polar opposites that complement and bring out the best in each other. It was Tarun, who first saw Aahana’s social media profile and fell in love with her smile, but since she was studying in Australia at the time, he waited for her to come back to Mumbai. When they did meet through mutuals, this duo got along instantly and effortlessly and both deem themselves to be fortunate for having each other as their lifelong roommates.
Wanting to be able to enjoy the rest of the parties without worrying about waking up early, the couple decided to host a low-key Haldi Ceremony during the early hours of the first day. The Waldorf Astoria Dubai suite that came with a huge open balcony fulfilled their wish for an indoor-outdoor venue. Like any traditional Haldi, this event featured a lot of whites and yellows, which was evident from the beautiful flower arch, clothing, and overall venue decor.
Also, what better way than get your Mehendi applied at the same time as Haldi? So, Aahana, dressed in simple yet elegant yellow traditional wear complemented by beautiful floral jewelry, got her Arabian and Indian blend of Mehendi design applied amidst all the crazy Haldi fun.
How more royal and luxurious can a wedding be but to take place in the exact royal suite where most royal families usually host parties and ceremonies? So, hosted in the Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah Royal Suite with red lights and simple yet elegant decor, setting the vibe, this masquerade-themed welcome dinner served to give a glimpse into what lay ahead in this luxurious destination wedding in Dubai.
Our couple wanted to wear something unique and powerful for their first grand event so they went with statement pantsuits by NM Design Studio. Also, the event oversaw some beautiful Venetian-roman live statues fanned out across the suite, servers serving delicious Lebanese and Italian cuisine dishes while adorning masks, and cutting of the grand custom-made masquerade cake to mark the beginning of this wonderful four-day affair.
If we have to describe this Mehendi Function in a few words, then chill, relaxing, vibrant, colorful, fun, and entertaining are some words that will do the job. From relaxing massages given by experienced masseuses to alluring gift corners, fun dance performances by carnival dancers, hookah nook for youngsters, and entertaining performances by famous playback singers like Shadab Faridi, this function had it all. With the theme as ‘Carnival of Colours’ and the venue being the Infinity Pool in the Palm Jumeirah Dubai, a chilly yet refreshing breeze, colorful beach cabanas, and striking decor are some of the things that greeted the guests at this event.
Further, going with the theme, Aahana wore a stunning mirror-work lehenga designed by Abhinav Mishra and Tarun matched his bride by looking dapper in the stylish yellow kurta pajama by NM Design Studio. In addition, while our bride got her Mehendi done earlier during the Haldi ceremony so that she can fully enjoy the rest of the functions, all the wedding guests got beautiful henna applied by some of the best local mehndi artists in Dubai at this event.
There’s no way that this elite destination wedding in Dubai could be complete without this crazy fun Cocktail Party. Doing complete justice to this night’s theme ‘As Gold as it gets’, the Ballroom of Waldorf Astoria Dubai looked nothing less than majestic with pastel flowers, and gold and white shimmering decor elements enhancing its beauty. Rocking band performances by Shadab Faridi and Lisa Mishra, fun cocktail drinks, and several entertaining family dance performances were some of the highlights of this event that went on till the wee hours of the night.
Meanwhile, the dazzling cocktail outfit worn by Aahana was by Falguni Shane Peacock whereas Tarun had an impeccable black and white three-piece suit by NM Design Studio, Mumbai.
Finally, the much-awaited day rolled around and it would suffice to say that it went nothing less than simply phenomenal. While being an Arabian themed wedding, arranged by one of the best wedding planners in Dubai, The Wedding Bridge, it followed all the sacred Indian wedding traditions. From rocking baraat dance on dhol beats to epic groom entry (well, this came with one minor change, our 21st-century groom took entry in posh Rolls-Royce instead of an old-fashioned entry on a horse). In the same vein, our bride went for the classic entry under Phoolon ki Chadar while her brothers escorted her. Moreover, this beach wedding in Dubai featured a beautiful beachside mandap enhanced with pastel flowers and Moroccan Arabic wedding decorations. This accompanied by a refreshing beach breeze made this affair all the more fantastic.
While Aahana finally made her dream of being a Sabyasachi bride come true by adorning a stunning coffee-colored lehenga, Tarun had a classic soft beige Sherwani set on by NM Design Studio for this special day.
From assorted Arabian props like camels, Arabic lamps, motifs, and majestic Sufi Performances by Turkish dancers on the rhythms of Shadab Faridi’s band, this wedding reception did complete justice to the Sufi theme that the couple had wanted. And trust us when we say, the last wedding event of this destination wedding in Dubai did end with a bang with almost everyone on the dance floor, living some great moments that they are bound to remember for definitely a very long time.
For this event, Aahana wore a maroon-colored statement saree by Kresha Bajaj and Tarun looked dapper in a classy black sherwani by NM Design Studio.
Making most out of their time, Aahana and Tarun followed the latest trend of having a post-wedding photo-shoot, as they didn’t get time for a pre-wedding shoot. Subsequently, they chose the Hotel Palace Downtown as the venue for this shoot because the majestic Burj Khalifa Lake is situated right next to it. Looking at the gorgeous pictures, we can certainly agree that this decision definitely worked in their favor! And finally, this event marked the end of this fantastic destination wedding in Dubai.
