Most of us grow up imagining a perfect wedding with a partner that understands and cherishes us. Both of these aspects remain to be non-negotiable. While the perfect partner is destiny bound, the perfect outfit is in our hands. Palak Kukkar has lived that fantasy and stretched it a little more. The extravagant and scenic wedding venue was in Ananta in Udaipur. Her envy-inducing picks for her wedding functions was a major highlight. Designer bridal dresses are such a dream and with names like Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, Manish Malhotra, Shyamal and Bhumika, and Anamika Khanna- her wardrobe is pretty tight!
Born and brought up in Jaipur, Palak had her own conventional mindset when it came to Delhi boys. But life had something ironically lovely planned for her. Palak and Pankaj met in Manchester Business school for their masters and she immediately decided she didn’t even want to be friends. Although that barely lasted two days. The pair couldn’t deny their compatibility and eventually became inseparable best friends. After coming back to India, they put in meeting each other, ignoring the long distance. Eventually, Pankaj planned a spectacularly dreamy surprise proposal in Jaipur. This brings us to now; a ravishing wedding full of top tier bridal designer dresses by the finest delhi designers!
Starting with the first wedding functions, we saw the bride and groom ditching the conventional yellow. Palak wore a gorgeous peach sharara with gota work, handpicked from one of Jaipur’s local designers, Veera Design. On the other hand, Pankaj offered an amazing contrast by wearing a bright emerald green kurta with gold accents from Masaba Gupta.
Palak flaunted her unique and rich taste in designer bridal dresses when she went for a stunning number called ‘ASAL’ by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. Undoubtedly, the cerulean blue offered such a great contrast to her pastel pink colour palette of the event. The beautiful applique work spoke for itself. She was a true Jani Khosla bride, a breathtaking amalgamation of Indian heritage and western design. Pankaj too offered a great colour contrast by wearing a mint green kurta with heavy silver accents by the same label.
Sangeet was a lavish set-up, burgundy, black and silver being the primary colors of the venue. Palak went for an intricately designed subtle pink and gold number by Anamika Khanna. With an embroidered waist-cinching belt, the lehenga looked divine. The work was heavy yet didn’t appear gaudy at all. Pankaj also dressed to impress in a personal favourite by Manish Malhotra. The black sherwani had delicate and fine designs around the collar which tied the entire ensemble together. The couple seemed to have been wizards at picking the perfect designers and colours that complimented them and the venues. Ultimately, this duo in black and pink did not disappoint at all!
Finally the colour scheme of the big wedding day was warm in conventional red and gold. Palak’s final and the most important pick for her designer bridal wear was an amorous number by Shyamal and Bhumika, one of the best bridal designer dresses. The outfit was a unique combination of a pale pink choli and a bright and warm tone of sultry red coloured lehenga. It featured some awe-inspiring Indian craftsmanship with gold zari flowers and stunning threadwork. The groom wore a pale ivory sherwani from Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. His beautiful Amrapali Kalgi and rich accessories were from Sabyasachi. Additionally, the green of the Sabyasachi emeralds and gold accents of the kalgi made him look as royal as his bride. The wedding was a glorious celebration of Indian heritage and mores.
The final event of this big fat Punjabi wedding was the reception where the bride wore a dark and shimmery grey bridal outfit from Manish Malhotra. Additionally, the groom decked up in a classic black suit from Dolce and Gabbana. To say that they looked like absolute royalty would be a shameful understatement.
The wedding was mesmerizing and why wouldn’t it be? It had a pretty picturesque venue and an alluring bridal couture by the best bridal designers.
