Interviewer: How long you are in this profession? How big is your team size?

Ankur: Following my passion, I joined London School of makeup, UK. After getting certification from there, I started working as a wedding makeup artist. I have been working in India, across many cities, for the last 5 years.

I believe in having a flexible team. The size of my team completely depends on my client’s requirements.

Interviewer: Do you do a trial run of the wedding makeup?

Ankur: Many brides prefer to have a trial run before the wedding. I am pretty open to trail run, but they are paid trials and the amount can be adjusted in the final payment. There is absolutely nothing wrong with checking to make sure you are making the best decision for you, for the most important day of your life.

Interviewer: Apart from wedding makeup have you been a part of any other event?

Ankur: My portfolio includes both Indian and Western touch. I have done makeup shoots for Cosmopolitan, for Malvika Chauhan- The brand ambassador for Mrs.India Earth, and many other makeup shoots for various models.

Interviewer: How do you ensure that your wedding makeup is clean?

Ankur: We make sure all the makeup applicators including brushes, tweezers, sponges, combs, etc. are properly washed and sanitized after every use.

Interviewer: Which product do you use? What will you suggest the brides for a healthy skin?

Ankur: Perfect skin is the best possible canvas for your makeup.We use only high-end products to ensure the best quality of wedding makeup like Giorgio Armani, Urban Decay, Mac, Channel, etc.Taking care of our skin is very important for all of us especially for the brides. Keeping the body hydrated and taking plenty of sleep is the key to healthy skin.

Interviewer: Do you have experience with hair styling as well?

Ankur: I have a good hand on hair styling too. But to fully concentrate on wedding makeup, I prefer to keep a well-trained hair stylist with me for the wedding makeup.

Interviewer: How flexible you are with the customers?

Ankur: I am pretty flexible with my customers. I believe it’s her day and for sure they would have some dreams of how they want to look on her special day.

Interviewer: Usually how long you take to complete the wedding makeup?

Ankur: It takes around 2 to 3 hours for complete wedding makeup.Not only do you need time to apply your makeup, but you’ll need a calm environment in which to do it.

Interviewer: What makes you unique from the other wedding makeup artist?

Ankur: I personally believe in using high-quality products for the wedding makeup. Secondly, I don’t force my views on customers, to me my clients thought process about their looks is foremost important.

Interviewer: How flexible you are in travelling?

Ankur: I am pretty flexible in travelling. I can easily move to my client’s location, even if it is an outstation venue.I have done some destination wedding makeup as well.

Interviewer: What is the latest trend going on in the market for the wedding makeup?

Ankur: I personally believe there is nothing as an ongoing trend in the wedding makeup. A makeup that suits your personality makes the best wedding makeup trend for you. It’s all about looking beautiful on your special day.

Interviewer: Do you do the cocktail and Christian bride makeup as well?

Ankur: Yes, we are also specialized in cocktail and Christian bride makeup. As we do have the experience in western makeup as well. Customers can check my portfolio for the same.

Interviewer: What should be the diet and regular routine of a bride to be for making her skin flawless?

Ankur: Avoid crash diets. Eat healthy diet. Drink a lot of water. Avoid stress. Avoid alcohol consumption. At last, a little exercise is never a harm. Yoga and meditation will add charm to your beauty. For just 5 minutes a day, perform a few facial exercise. As great skin for your wedding day is all in the preparation.

Interviewer: What should be there in the emergency kit of a bride to make her wedding makeup stay long?

Ankur: The lights and crowd may result in excessive sweating. Always use a blotting sheet to absorb oil. To be on the safer side also be ready with few safety pins. A lipstick of the colour you have used should be in your emergency kit. The key to really making your makeup last, is using a setting spray. While you may be tempted to pack a pressed powder in your purse, you should never reapply powder. Though these are just a few options you can consider to include in your emergency kit, but we ensure that your wedding makeup remains as it is.
