Day 1
The LAKME FASHION SHOW 2017 showcased Winter Festive Collection from elite designers for the new season. The show kickstarted by INIFD’s GENEXT runway show giving five new designer labels to debut on the runway:
Anaam by Sumiran Kabir Sharma, whose theme was Fierce Fluid Fashion that was inspired by ‘Sonagachi’ (Kolkata’s Red Light District).

The designer made sure to get the attention through his intricate designs, by using solids in blacks, greys & a total monochrome palette, shawls & togas & not to forget the special highlight- the caps which drew the whole look of the costume to make it a classy piece. The makeup happens to be minimal & face painted in black which depicted clearly those important issues happening in the Red Light district of Kolkata.
Next was Integument by Deepak Pathak, which highlighted Stylish techniques done on Fabrics, with correct cutwork, jacquard knitting & printing on textiles.

Here comes, one of my favourite line from Day 1 of LFW 2017- Bloni by Akshat Bansal, which was an amalgamation of the traditional & contemporary trend, by taking inspiration from snowy mountains & lovely nature, hills & pine trees. the ombre look was created by nicely implementing monochrome look into whites & blacks. Just see by yourself & you gonna love it…

Akshat made sure he materializes what he aspires to show via his collection & must say it was greatly done & was applauded by all.
While, Untitled Co. by Shenali Sema and Rinzin Lama, which highlighted embroidery techniques with perfect cutwork & stitching made everyone go awestruck with simple sleek silhouettes & blue tints & shades colour palette.

The designing duo has combined the embroidery technique with Japanese original artistic printing on their fabric. The overall collection experimented with floral prints into pastel sheets with georgettes. It was paired with polyester fabrics.
Last but not the least, let’s explore ‘Amourage’ from Saaksha-Kinni by Saaksha Parekh and Kinnari Kamat which was extremely daring & experimentative in their approach than other collection who used metal pleats, striped jackets & metal weaved sheets with thread work.

Rara Avis collection by Sonal Kapur aimed to bring classic designs. It focused on dark colours & accessories. Sonal Chauhan walked the ramp for the designer. She looked every inch glamorous & confident in the perfect embellished dress. While 431:88 By Shweta Kapur where Sayani Gupta totally mesmerized us. She wore a fine shimmery short dress & we are in love with this one.
